My family and I have had the opportunity to attend Mass every so often on a Sunday evening at Our Lady of Grace in West Sacramento. Last time we were there, I made the time to take a pic of the beautiful stained glass window above the altar wall which is an image of Our Lady of Grace. The delicate image reminds me that Mary always intercedes for us in obtain all graces.
As I started walking down the main aisle, I looked up at the choir loft just to find a statue of the Christ Child, Santo Niño. The small statue is enthroned up on the wall as one exits the nave of the church. Since our last parish before we moved to California was Santo Niño de Atocha in El Paso, every time I see a statue of Santo Niño is an assurance that God is with us, Emmanuel!
Afterwards, I found some little flowers outside the church. These reminded me that all creation speaks of His glory, even the smallest flowers with their tiny petals swaying with the wind. We are making our home in NorCal knowing that here, too, is where God Is.
Let us pray: May Our Lady, Mediatrix of All Graces, cover us with her tender mantle. Amen.
